Our History<\/h4>

The Golden Gate Christian Reformed Church, San Francisco was founded by Rev & Mrs. Peter Yang. In August 1965, they held the first service in their living room with 16 people. Since then the church has moved to two other locations including 18th Ave YMCA and a 25th Ave house. On April 22, 1984, the church moved to its present location at 378 18th Avenue, San Francisco. A highlight of the celebration was Mayor Diane Feinstein\u2019s declaration of April 22, 1984 as \u201cGolden Gate Christian Reformed Church Day.\u201d One of the reasons for this honor is the church\u2019s active outreach community program that included the School for Developmentally Disabled, the After School Program, the Chinese School, and Agapeland. Today the church has a total membership of about 450 worshippers with a wide array of ministries for everyone in the different stages of their life cycle.There are three separate services \u2013 Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, with a pastor for each congregation. We believe that baptism by water is the public confession of Christ as Savior and Lord. It is a symbol of one\u2019s union, by faith, with Christ in death, burial, and resurrection. (Mt 28:19; Acts 2:38-41; Rom 6:3-5). We believe that the Lord\u2019s Supper should be observed by all believers. It consists of partaking corporately of the bread and cup, in remembrance of the death of Christ for the remission of sins.<\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n
